The root of Chengdu Hotpot trace back centuries, possibly in Qin Dynasty where fisherman began to experiment different method of cooking at the pier with a giant pot after harvesting their catch. Chengdu Hotpot gained its popularity after adding its spicy and numbing flavors and evolved over time.
